Back to the days off. Being an introvert who is accustomed to working from home, going into the office has been quite challenging. Thankfully, my boss is awesome and I get along with all of my immediate coworkers, so it hasn't been too bad but I miss the days of waking up and walking to my desk to sit down and work in the comfort of my home. We've had meetings at work about the census being down, which I know is a red flag for "Somebody is about to get laid off." Since I'm the only part-time employee, I'm pretty sure it will be me. Strangely enough, I'm okay with that. The weather is about to get cold and I'd much rather be typing from home, looking out of the window at the snow and ice rather than dealing with those crazies on the road trying to get to work. I will spend my days off looking for work from home again. Actually, I've already started but nothing has come through yet. I'm in the process of submitting some applications.
One thing has become apparent though.....I need a new desk chair. I've had this chair for so long and I have refused to get another one until I find the right replacement, until now. An hour into sitting in this chair this morning, my left thigh started to hurt. That's not cool at all, so yeah, it's time to do something about this. Hopefully I can find one soon that's comfortable. I found one online at the local office supply store that's similar to the ones we have at work. I hope they have it in the store so I can test it out. It makes no sense to go from one uncomfortable chair to another. Kind of pointless in my opinion. We'll see what happens though. I'm currently sitting on the edge of the chair just to avoid the uncomfortable leg pain. Good for posture but not for long term typing because the location of my keyboard is not comfortable now. Geez, can a sista get a break?
